Faradair® is delighted to welcome Dr Ben Evans (Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering) to its core team and Paul Teather (former KPMG executive) to its advisory board.
These valued additions to the Faradair® team continue to demonstrate the growth and aspirations of the company, and both Ben and Paul’s wealth of experience is expected to have a significant impact on the future direction of the company.
For any new company, ‘the team’ is one of the most important areas any investor considers before becoming involved. Faradair® has taken its time to invite two new members that not only add significant capability to an already successful team, but who also truly understand the ethos and objectives of the business.
Dr Ben Evans
Dr Ben Evans, who will take the position of Faradair®’s Chief Aerodynamicist, is one of the United Kingdom’s leading aero engineers and one of its brightest aerodynamicists. As senior lecturer at Swansea University, Ben is one of the men tasked with keeping the fantastically exciting ‘Bloodhound SSC’ land speed record car on the ground. The 1000mph supersonic car is a test of engineering and aerodynamic capability that showcases the very best of British engineering talent.
His addition to the double award winning Faradair® team is a huge boost, just as the company moves into its next stage of growth. With latest computer modelling techniques, combined with state of the art aerospace engineering facilities at Swansea University, he has the skills and resources needed to improve the aircraft at this stage of the development process.

His input to the optimisation process over the next couple of years will shape BEHA to becoming one of the world’s finest urban air transport solutions, whilst also helping to develop a new young engineering team in the process,” Managing Director of Faradair® Neil Cloughley said.

Paul’s background includes extensive business consulting, systems integration and enterprise software experience allied to broad industry sector knowledge and experience. His enviable track record includes quickly identifying business challenges and leading teams with diverse skills to deliver shareholder value creating solutions.
As a UK executive team member for a large global IT and business consulting services group, Paul led the consulting, systems integration and outsourcing activities into the telecoms, energy & utilities, transport and high tech markets.

The BEHA (Bio Electric Hybrid Aircraft) is the brainchild of commercial aviation and former IT entrepreneur Neil Cloughley. ‘Hybraero’ is the exciting joint venture between Faradair and Prodrive, a motorsport and advanced engineering company, developing a new form of hybrid aviation engine called the Hybraero H600 that is not only creating a propulsion system for BEHA, but it is creating a stand-alone market opportunity for other aircraft manufacturers and sectors that could use a 600hp capable hybrid propulsion engine. Incorporating a clean sheet design, 300hp JetA1/Biofuel internal combustion engine with integrated electric motors that also generate 300hp, this new hybrid propulsion engine will provide single engine operators the failsafe security of 10 minutes of electric flight in event of a primary engine stoppage, in addition to lower operational costs, via electric assisted take-off, reducing fuel burn, noise and emissions during the most costly part of any flight – namely take off.
Faradair aims to be one of the world’s leading hybrid aviation technology companies and future projects include a larger regional commuter variant of BEHA. This will significantly reduce the impact of intercity commercial aviation on the environment and on those living within close proximity of airports, whilst also providing a financially viable alternative to road and rail transport.
