Faradair Aerospace Limited the new UK Hybrid Aircraft manufacturer is delighted to announce an exclusive partnership agreement with Avidyne Corporation for the provision of Avionics to the new BEHA (Bio-Electric-Hybrid-Aircraft) currently being developed by Faradair.

Avidyne Corporation is one of the world’s leading avionics providers for the general aviation market and it has agreed to provide the avionics for the first BEHA prototype, assisting in the development and supply of the avionics configuration for all future production BEHA’s.

Combining a biodiesel pusher engine with twin electric ducted fan motors, Faradair’ s BEHA is an innovative six seat, Triple box-wing, Hybrid aircraft that could revolutionise general aviation in the urban environment. In the coming weeks, further partnership announcements will be made as the initial aircraft design begins its Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis at the renowned aviation engineering university in Cranfield, UK.

 

“The greatest restrictor to future aviation growth in the general and commercial aviation sector is pollution, primarily through noise and emissions,” says Neil Cloughley.

“BEHA is specifically designed to be able to fly slowly and quietly, incorporating multiple safety redundancy features, whilst cutting its emissions footprint to negligible levels. This is an aircraft specifically designed as an intercity ‘hopper’, taking off and landing on electric power from ‘micro-airfield’ locations, while using the biodiesel engine for in-flight cruise power and battery re-charging capability. The aircraft will be an all Carbon fibre built airframe with a key focus on weight saving.”

Since its launch in November 2014, Faradair has attracted global interest with coverage in over 20 countries and a growing interest within the investment community. The aircraft design itself has caused many debates with amateur fans and aviation professionals alike and the performance capability forecasts from the CFD in the coming months will begin to clarify the specific performance capabilities that are expected from this unique 21st century TriPlane.
