Faradair Aerospace Limited the new UK Hybrid Aircraft manufacturer is delighted to announce an exclusive partnership agreement with Avidyne Corporation for the provision of Avionics to the new BEHA (Bio-Electric-Hybrid-Aircraft) currently being developed by Faradair.
Avidyne Corporation is one of the world’s leading avionics providers for the general aviation market and it has agreed to provide the avionics for the first BEHA prototype, assisting in the development and supply of the avionics configuration for all future production BEHA’s.
“I am absolutely delighted to be making this announcement just five months after the launch of Faradair and BEHA” says Neil Cloughley, Managing Director, Faradair Aerospace Limited.
He continues “Avidyne is recognised globally as a leading aviation brand, providing high quality, state of the art avionics and we are honoured that they have chosen to partner with us in the development of our new hybrid aircraft – BEHA”.
Combining a biodiesel pusher engine with twin electric ducted fan motors, Faradair’ s BEHA is an innovative six seat, Triple box-wing, Hybrid aircraft that could revolutionise general aviation in the urban environment. In the coming weeks, further partnership announcements will be made as the initial aircraft design begins its Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis at the renowned aviation engineering university in Cranfield, UK.
“The greatest restrictor to future aviation growth in the general and commercial aviation sector is pollution, primarily through noise and emissions,” says Neil Cloughley.
“BEHA is specifically designed to be able to fly slowly and quietly, incorporating multiple safety redundancy features, whilst cutting its emissions footprint to negligible levels. This is an aircraft specifically designed as an intercity ‘hopper’, taking off and landing on electric power from ‘micro-airfield’ locations, while using the biodiesel engine for in-flight cruise power and battery re-charging capability. The aircraft will be an all Carbon fibre built airframe with a key focus on weight saving.”
“By providing the latest glass cockpit technologies and cabling solutions, Avidyne brings years of experience and reputation for excellence that fits perfectly with our future vision. We look forward to working with them over the coming years and to delivering one of the world’s most innovative and unique hybrid aircraft within the general aviation sector”.
“We’re thrilled to combine modern glass flight deck technology with green aircraft design to create the next generation of aircraft,” said Dan Schwinn, Avidyne CEO. “Faradair has a vision that we’re excited to be a part of and we think we have a product line that will help reach that goal.”
The BEHA will give operators inter-city travel opportunity at all hours of the day or night with minimal impact on those around them, whilst also enjoying low operational costs. Since its launch in November 2014, Faradair has attracted global interest with coverage in over 20 countries and a growing interest within the investment community. The aircraft design itself has caused many debates with amateur fans and aviation professionals alike and the performance capability forecasts from the CFD in the coming months will begin to clarify the specific performance capabilities that are expected from this unique 21st century TriPlane.
Faradair is currently engaged in a Seed investment funding round and further information on the company can be found online at www.faradair.com, and www.facebook.com/Faradair and on Twitter @Faradair.

Notes to editors
The BEHA is the brainchild of commercial aviation and former IT entrepreneur Neil Cloughley. He believes his new venture ‘Faradair’ is evolving at the perfect time for clean-technology and environmentally friendly aircraft and as a result, the programme is attracting a significant amount of global interest. Having seen the challenges for airlines and private operators within the commercial aviation environment and the objections to further aviation expansion due to emissions and noise output from Aircraft, Neil has created a team, a company, a brand and an initial aircraft design concept that could significantly impact the future perspective of urban aviation opportunity. BEHA is bridging the all-electric future via hybrid flight today.
Faradair is a new start-up aviation company based in the heart of the Cotswolds in the UK. This Cirencester start-up is working with a select group of partners to deliver a brand new prototype aircraft, targeted for completion by 2018. The company is currently assessing a number of local airfield sites from which to build its new eco-friendly assembly facility for its six seat Bio-Electric-Hybrid-Aircraft (BEHA).
Faradair aims to be the world’s largest hybrid aircraft manufacturer and hybrid aviation technologies provider by 2025. By this time it also expects to build a 20 seat regional commuter variant of BEHA that is able to significantly reduce the impact of intercity commercial aviation on the environment and on those living within close proximity of airports. Faradair is keen to talk with technology providers and investors that may be interested in joining its venture into ‘Green’ aviation.
